Rolls-Royce & Bentley Day 2010

Just stumbled across video of the 2010 Rolls-Royce & Bentley Owners Club Japan's annual Rolls-Royce & Bentley Day at the historic Red Brick warehouses in Yokohama.

Otherwise known as ロールス・ロイス&ベントレーDAY2010.

Always is a good turnout.

This year's summary is here.

1937 Rolls-Royce headlamp needed

This is something you don't see everyday.

Pretty much the exact opposite of what most people do.

Let's buy a 1937 Rolls-Royce assumed to be a 25/30 to make a 4x4.

Not using the chassis or engine, just the body!

The video is certainly interesting, as gets better a it goes along.

Anyone interested is a rolling chassis project?

The First Body.

Now this photo is a little special.

It is the boys at Mulliner Park Ward making the first ever 2 door salon body for the Silver Shadow/Bentley T.

The drawings and plans hang around the room.

Here is an example of some on the dimensions of the Mulliner Park Ward.

I don't think too many spare bodies will be hanging around now.

Constructing the Touring Limousine

The Mulliner Park Ward Silver Spur Touring Limousine is my favourite limousine.

If you are going to create more more interior room in a car, this is the way to do it.

Raise the roof, enlarge the D pillar, made the door swing from the B pillar and fill in the gap from the end of the door to the D pillar. Simple. Don't just stretch the middle. It will never be a balanced design.

Here are a couple of amazing photographs taken at Mulliner Park Ward during the construction of a Silver Spur Touring Limousine.

An extra 610mm is added to rear compartment and the roof is raised by 55mm.

You can really see the distinction between the new unpainted added metal and the original black standard car body.

This photo clearly shows the new body section that is added to the car. Not a photo you see everyday on the internet.

So do you want one? I do.

Can someone please buy me this one that is currently for sale in Japan?

It's for sale at Yahoo Auction Japan here.

Rolls Royce Mulliner Park Ward Limousine

Nowei, wei. Yes. It is my favourite limousine.

The Rolls Royce Silver Spur II Touring Limousine by Mulliner Park Ward.

Spotted in the back streets of Hong Kong. Just the name of this car sounds like it is going places.

Apparently 91 were made, a lot larger number than I expected.

And this one is for sale.

Vincent Motors of G/F, 8 Dragon Road, Tin Hau, Hong Kong currently has this car listed for $HKD780K. Quite a reasonable price.

I do like a good occasional seat!

Of the 91 Rolls Royce Silver Spur II Touring Limousine by Mulliner Park Ward made, I wonder just how many ended up in the hands of the Royal Family of Brunei?

Your Royal Highness.

Thanks Jurriën again for the link.

Bentley Arnage RL 728

I have to admit that I am a bit of a fan of the Bentley Arnage RL 728.

Bentley Arnage RL 728

It is like a stately home. It is about as large, and contains just about the same amount of trees.

Bentley Arnage RL 728

And customised furniture as well.

Bentley Arnage RL 728

It is an object that would get passed down from generation to generation with stories to go with it, like my great grandfather that once made the driver take every person in the pub home in it one night, or the story about my youngest sister who was born in the back - that kind of thing.

Certainly something that you would never sell. It would be a discredit to the family name and look quite bad with the neighbour.

But really, it is a hard car to take down to McDonald's drive through during a recession.

Well one Russian is getting rid of his.

Bentley Arnage RL 728

This 2003 Bentley Arnage 728 Limousine is currently for sale at Bentley Москва 8-й км Рублево Успенского шоссе Московская область. The dealership is located in the 'Барвиха Luxury Village'. Nice. How much for your daughter?

Thanks Jurriën for the tip.

Bentley Turbo RT Mulliner

Lately a Bentley with the marking of a T is becoming to be a bit of a special car.

Since the 1996 Bentley Continental T that introduced with amazing performance and torque, there has been the Bentley Arnage T and the new Bentley Azure T.

There is also another T marked car our there. That is the Bentley Turbo RT.

And my favourite is this very limited Bentley Turbo RT Mulliner version.

A seriously limited number of the Turbo RT Mulliners were made.

It is the pinnacle of the Turbo R body shape in all respects.

Each was unique and totally tailored to what the customer ordered.

The interior is just impeccable.

The rear speedo is such a good feature!

Now the badges.

The colour match wheels certainly do stand out!

If I was to spec one out in 1998 I would add just a couple more options to the white one above, to make it a bit more the the one below.

I would have ticked the side vent option.

As well as the bonnet vents.

And finally, the Hooper style rear window would have been given the green light.

I think it equates to Bentley Turbo RT Mulliner perfection in my books.
